FEAR AS WILDERNESS, 2021

In 2021, my car was stolen at a gas station while I was standing at the pump. The experience left me with a lingering sense of unease, especially when alone at night. These photos convey that fear through the careful use of minimal light, contrasted against the vastness of darkness. Drawing inspiration from film noir, I experimented with long exposure times and motivated lighting—using light sources visible on-screen—to evoke the eerie, unsettling nature of the unknown that lurks in the night.
